A highly successful, non-surgical solution for effective treatment of debilitating low back, neck as well as radiating arm and leg pain is disc decompression therapy If you are one of the millions who suffer from low back or neck pain, you know how disruptive it can be to your lifestyle. Aching, burning, shooting pain and muscles in constant spasm make the simplest movements a demanding task and finding a comfortable position virtually impossible. Traditional treatment has consisted of medication and usually ends with the prospect of surgery - a painful, expensive and frightening experience. Treatments such as epidural injections, hot and/or cold therapies, acupuncture, massage and other "therapeutic" techniques may offer limited, if any, relief. Extensive research has shown decompression therapy to be extremely effective (upwards of 80%) in treating intervertebral disc problems. Decompression therapy is a traction based procedure that relieves pain commonly associated with herniated discs, degenerative discs trom arthritis as well as other compression-related syndromes. It enhances the healing process and can deliver quick, effective pain relief that enables most patients to return to a more active lifestyle! It is an FDA-approved procedure and most insurances cover decompression therapy. Decompression occurs as a result of an improved understanding of how to reliably "unload" the spine. The separation of vertebrae creates a vacuum force in the disc, resulting in a "negative systolic pressure". This helps to suction in extruded disc material, relieving pressure on the spinal nerve or spinal cord as well as improving blood flow, increasing nutrient exchange and increasing waste product removal at the injured area, further facilitating the healing process. Someone who has previously not found relief through other treatments is a perfect candidate for this treatment. Clinical findings suggest that decompression therapy will create a relatively quick initial response in terms of pain relief. Often patients will notice a significant reduction of pain and/or symptoms in 6-10 treatments. Treatment sessions typically last less than 20 minutes and again, most insurances cover them.
